About Me

My approach is authentic, curious, and grounded in deep respect for your lived experience. You’ve found ways to survive in a world that can be incredibly hard to live in, and I believe that honoring those coping strategies is often the first step toward meaningful change. In my work with clients, I aim to support a balance between developing greater self-compassion and learning new tools and strategies for growth. In each session, I bring my expertise as a therapist, and you bring your expertise as someone who has lived with yourself your whole life. Together, we’ll collaborate to understand what’s keeping you stuck and work toward a plan for change that feels both sustainable and empowering.

I have training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy and I have experience working with both adolescents and adults in both clinical and school settings. Before starting my practice I worked in numerous outdoor education settings, where I most valued supporting young people in their growth and development through experiencing challenges in the wilderness. My previous experience as an outdoor educator shows up in my practice through my ability to hold space for uncertainty and emphasize sensory awareness in my work with my clients.

I identify as white and non-binary. My life experiences as well as my training have taught me to bring a sociocultural and intersectional lens to my work. This means I think our everyday struggles come not just from our direct experiences with the important people in our lives, but from our experiences with the bigger social systems in which we and our ancestors have lived. How have our interactions with these systems supported our health and the health of those around us? How have these interactions been a source of suffering? I find that considering these questions can bring a great deal of relief to people whose experiences of both power and oppression have played an important and sometimes unseen role in their struggles.
